Let me begin by saying that as common sense would dictate, cold weather kills everything and everyone without a proper line of defense in place. Most every living thing on this planet that has a pulse understands and shares a common knowledge about cold weather and it's effects. Here are a few cold weather facts that are not common knowledge and possibly could save your life.

List of uncommon cold weather facts:
Cold weather can not only freeze you to death but burn you as well.
At about 86 degrees the human body will begin to shut down. This is the start of hypothermia.
When the weather is extreme and below zero, keep your breathing under control. The human lungs need moisture inside of them for range of motion when breathing. If the air is to cold and you are breathing at a heavy rate it is possible to freeze the interior of your lungs, creating internal bleeding inside of the lungs. This will, without a doubt cause death and can not be reversed.
Long exposure to bright snow will damage your retina causing snow blindness. Wearing sunglasses or even tree bark with thin eye slits cut into it will limit the amount of bright light from damaging your vision.
Heart attacks will occur more often on cold early mornings than most other mornings. When sitting up in bed, give your body time to adjust before standing up. This allows for your blood flow to reach it's max peak pressure and makes it much easier for your heart.
